"Persuasive writing" is a term that confuses beginning writers. Usually we use the term to mean writing that influences the reader, as you have done here.

However, the term can use used in two other ways. It can refer to the purpose of the writing. (We all know that something what we intend to do is not what we actually accomplish!)

But when English teachers use the term, they are talking about the way a piece is organized. A vast amount of nonfiction writing organized by the persuasive writing pattern doesn't even attempt to influence behavior.

See http://www.you-can-teach-writing.com/what-is-persuasive-writing.html for more on this terminology issue.

It is no wonder kids struggle with writing. Even the lingo is a minefield.
